How to Recognise a Reliable Operator
The market of Executive Aviation is heterogeneous. Most airlines (operators) are rather small and sometimes have only one airplane. Further, there are flight agencies who on their home pages leave the impression of owning airplanes themselves. Here are some small tips on how to protect yourself from experiences with black sheep.
- How long has the airline been in business?
- Does the company have a valid AOC or is it registered at LBA?
- Are there references?
- Were you informed about the booking and cancellation policy?
- Is the imprint on the website complete?
- Does the offer / booking deviate from the oral agreements (e. g. another destination airport)?
- Do the employees give comprehensive answers to questions?
- Were you informed about additional costs due to delayed departures or deicing?
- What experience does the crew have?
- Do you have the feeling that it is all about the price?
In the event that you obtain offers from several airlines:
- Are there deviations in the offers, that is, are there companies that reject a flight for legal reasons and others that do not?
- Are there companies who need to stop on the same route on which others do not?
In these cases you should have a closer look. Some companies are not really into aviation regulations and safety.
For this reason the members of QUALI-FLY have signed a self-commitment. Benefit from the resulting advantages.
